How it works
A payment overseer for your accounts payable email
Fiducio sits over the mailboxes where invoices and payment requests actually arrive, checks them against the supplier bank details you have verified, and warns your team before a fraudulent payment goes out.
1. Import your verified payee baseline
Connect Xero to pull your suppliers and payees — subcontractors, materials merchants, plant hire, and more. Mark key payees verified with sort code, account number, and a trusted phone number confirmed by call, not email.
2. Connect selected Microsoft 365 mailboxes
Authorise read-only access to the accounts payable mailboxes you choose (e.g. accounts@, invoices@). Fiducio never reads your whole tenant and never sends mail or changes payment files.
3. Fiducio monitors payment-risk email
On a schedule, Fiducio reads incoming invoices and payment requests, extracts UK bank details and amounts (including from PDF attachments), and identifies the payee.
4. Risk signals are scored and explained
Fiducio compares details against your verified baseline and flags bank-detail changes, supplier impersonation, unknown payees, duplicate invoices, and urgent payment pressure — with clear reasons, not a black-box score.
5. Verify before you pay
High-risk items open a verification task with a checklist: confirm bank details via the trusted phone number before releasing payment. Every decision is recorded in an audit trail.
Example scenarios
Illustrative examples of the payment fraud patterns Fiducio is designed to catch.
Known supplier, changed bank details
A supplier you pay regularly emails new bank details. Fiducio compares them to the verified record and flags the mismatch for phone verification before payment.
Unknown payee, urgent invoice
A first-time payee sends an invoice with UK bank details and pressure to pay quickly. Fiducio raises it as a high-risk unknown payee needing independent confirmation.
Supplier impersonation
An email arrives from a lookalike domain or with a mismatched reply-to. Fiducio highlights the identity weakness rather than treating the sender as trusted.
Duplicate invoice
The same invoice reference is submitted again with fresh urgency. Fiducio flags the duplicate so it is not paid twice.
What Fiducio does not do
- Access your bank or move money — Fiducio never touches payments
- Read your entire mailbox — only the mailboxes you connect
- Replace Microsoft 365 security or your approval process
- Auto-approve or auto-block payments — your team decides
See our security and data statement for full detail on access and limitations.
